Cecil’s

bAR BRANDING

Theatre flamboyance and Art Deco elegance. A scrapbook of cocktails all paying homage to Cecil Beaton; his costumes, work and subjects. Welcome to Cecil’s.

Naming, branding and collateral for this elegant yet playful cocktail bar situated within the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in Covent Garden, London. By renaming the existing Cecil Beaton Bar “Cecil’s”, a Members’ club flair is quickly established, creating a sense of character and playfulness – as if being on a first name basis with Cecil himself. Beautifully crafted cocktails created by award-winning cocktail connoisseur Tristan Stephenson. A friendly place mixing Art Deco elegance with eccentric touches. Welcome to Cecil’s.

Working alongside the brilliant interior design studio Alexander Waterworth, bringing to life their attention to detail in pattern work and furnishings, the brief spanned: naming, visual identity and logo design (the logo inspired by a mix of Beaton’s iconic signatures), and full list of collateral, including: elegant cloth-bound fabric menus, bespoke patterns created for each cocktail, eccentric bar coasters, quirky sugar cube packaging and online assets.
